In performing our assignment, we had to take the help and guideline of some respected persons, who deserve our greatest gratitude. The completion of this assignment gives us much pleasure. We would like to show our gratitude Madam Dr. Nurussobah Hussin for giving us a good guideline for assignment throughout numerous consultations. We would also like to expand our deepest gratitude to all those who have directly and indirectly guided us in writing this assignment.

In addition, we would also like to thank our classmates and team members itself, have made valuable comment suggestions on this proposal, which gave us an inspiration to improve our assignment. We thank all the people for their help directly and indirectly to complete our assignment.

BACKGROUND

UiTM was established in 1999. UiTM has produced many graduates indigenous quality to meet the needs of the workforce and contribute to the well-being and successful development of the country.UiTM also not only known in malaysia, but in the world. The feedback from Malaysian is very positive especially from malays. Currently, UiTM have 650,000 alumni.  It has 518 programme offered in UiTM and it has about 35 campuses all around in Malaysia. On of 35 faculty is UiTMPuncakPerdana.

UiTM Puncak Perdana is located in Jalan Pulau Indah Au10/A, Puncak Perdana, 40150 Shah Alam, Selangor .  In this university, it divided into two faculties. One of them is Faculty Of Information Management. This faculty is known as the faculty that produced many successful student. There are four important courses in this faculty which is system management, record management, library management and resource management. Those are vision, mission and objectives of this faculty.

To be a world-class center of excellence for education and research in the fields of Information Management, Knowledge Management, Library Management and Record Management.

Mission

• Provide education for information professionals to enable a well-balanced, knowledgeable, competitive, and ethical workforce for the development of Malaysia as a knowledge society
• Provide continuous education programme at various level to fulfill the needs of working information personnel to enhance knowledge, skills and competency in line with the national policy on capacity building and lifelong learning.
• Provide leadership in consultancy and research for individuals and organizations interested in research and development in the areas encompassing information, knowledge, library, archive and record management.

Objectives

• To fulfill the manpower needs for professionally qualified information personnel for the development of the nation towards vision 2020.
• To provide academic and professional programs of high quality, innovative and up-to-date.
• To provide quality teaching with the support of practical training, research, publishing, and consultancy work.
• To increase the quality, effectiveness and the variety of training programs in line with industry needs and technological advancement.
• To produce graduates capable of playing a key role in the promotion of reading habits and information-rich society.

For the conclusion, graduates of this faculty become the main driving force for the development of a knowledge-based society, transforming Malaysia into a developed nation, ensuring that the country’s rich reservoirs of knowledge are systematically organised, maintained and enhanced for optimum value.
